Adult Soccer Rules

ASC House Rules

No SOCCER CLEATS will be allowed.  Shoes must be tennis shoes or turf shoes.

Shin guards are required and must be covered at all times.

All players must have a player card before the 1st game of the season. (there is a $5 reprint fee if lost)

Uniform must be matching.  Home team is responsible for changing.

All players must remove all jewelry before a game begins.  All Players wearing a knee brace must have an ace bandage or protective sleeve over the brace.  There will be no exceptions.

No cameras are allowed on the field or players benches at any time.

No food or drink on the field.  Closed lid water and sports drinks are acceptable in the player’s bench.

Team Managers are responsible for collecting the referee fee and making sure the referee fee is paid each week.

Rosters must be turned in at the latest by the third week of league play.  There cannot be any changes made to your roster after week 3.  No player is allowed to play more than one game in the same division on the same night unless given the OK by opposing teams manager.  No team member substitutions can be made unless they are on the team roster.  If a player is not on the roster and enters the field of play that team will automatically forfeit the game.  Each team is allowed one free roster check during regular season (after rosters lock) and will be granted by the coordinator.  If a team asks for a second roster check during the season they will be charged a $20.00 fee.  If the roster challenge is correct by the team manager then the $20.00 fee will not be issued.  If the Managers challenge is wrong then the $20.00 goes to ASC Facility.  These fees will be used for maintenance cost to the facility.  A player cannot enter a game with less than 12 minutes remaining in the second half.  Player must be present before the 12 minute mark, and if present before this mark will be allowed to enter the field.

All Adult league players must be 18 and older.  Any team caught with a player under 18 will result in a forfeit.  Anyone underage playing in the adult leagues will be suspended from the facility.

If your team decides to not show up for any scheduled game, you will need to pay a $50.00 forfeit fee.  If this fee is not paid by the next scheduled game, the team and any members will not be allowed to participate in any games or leagues until the fee is paid.

If late to a game a player must not enter the field until the next available stoppage of a play.  Player must be ready when the official waves them onto the field.

Each half will be 24 minutes long with a 2 minute half time.

We will be 6 v 6 (goalkeeper included).  You will need at least 4 players (goalkeeper included) to start the game.  If a team does not have 4 players to start, we will start the clock.  After 5 minutes of running time, the team with enough players will be rewarded one goal.  After another 5 minutes, they will be rewarded 1 more goals, and if there are not enough players after 15 minutes, it will be considered a 0 – 3 Forfeit.

There is no sliding, or slide tackles on the field.

Absolutely no spitting on the field (this includes gum).  Spitting can result in a 4 min penalty after warning has been given.  

If a player receives an injury that displays any blood, they must exit the field to get their injury bandaged before being allowed to continue playing on the field.

SUBSTITUTIONS:  Free substitutions shall be permitted without stoppage of play.  In order for a player to enter the game, the player coming out must be within the touch line in front or by the door:  PENALTY – free kick.  If the goalkeeper is replaced by another goalkeeper, the official must be properly informed and the change made during a stoppage in play.  Teams violating the substitution rule for putting excess number of players on the field:  (Blue Card) Players must use the doors to enter and exit the field NO jumping the bench wall; after warning then 2 min penalty.

There will be no 3 Line Violations.

Additional Co-ed Rules

Each team must have at least 2 female players to start the game. If they only have 2 female players they both have to play the field. 

Female goals will be awarded 2 points.

If a female keeper NO MALE MAY SHOOT inside yellow line. (This does not include a shootout – a shootout is a live play situation)

Cards:

The following penalties apply to offenses for which a Card is issued (subject to further action by the Administrative Authority):

 

Blue Card – Player sits out for 2 minutes and team plays down.

Yellow Card – 2-minute Time Penalty (for a player’s second Blue Card) team plays down.

Yellow Card “misconduct”: Player must sit out entire 4-minutes and team DOES NOT play down

Red Card  “Administrative”: 2-minute Time Penalty (for a player’s third Blue Card) and ejection, team plays down.

Red Card: 5-minute Time Penalty and ejection, team plays down.

 

Any player receiving an accumulation of up to or more than 5min of penalty time will be ejected. (subject to further action by the Administrative Authority)

 

Players are designated by their teams to serve Time Penalties of their Goalkeeper, non-player personnel, and of teammates who receive Red Cards. Otherwise, the person who commits a carded offense serves the penalty. Players serving Time Penalties serve their Time Penalties, SEATED, until their expiration and the Referee permits their release.

 

A straight red card suspends player for a minimum of one week.  They cannot play or participate in any of their league games.

All suspensions are evaluated and set by American Sports Centers.

Any individual that receives 3 red cards within a year period will result in 6 months to a year suspension from the facility.

American Sports Centers has the right to ban any players or teams.

If a player is red carded in one division, it will result in a suspension from all divisions.

Time penalties will be carried over into the second half, but not into overtime.

A shootout is awarded on the 4th foul and after every 4th foul thereafter.  The foul count starts over at each half and overtime period.

There is no over time for regular season games.  Overtime during playoffs will be a 5 minutes “golden goal”, and if still tied, a shootout.

Shootout — 3 shootouts for each team.  Coed must alternate between male and female each shot.  Home team decides what order they want the shooters to go.  They may choose to go guy, girl, guy or girl, guy, girl. 

There is a maximum of a 5 goal differential during regular games for tiebreaker purposes.  Example:  If your team wins 14-2, and you end up tied with another team for playoffs, your team will only be awarded a 5 goal differential for that game.

A player may only play on one team per division.

Referee abuse will not be tolerated and will be dealt with accordingly.

Spectators are not allowed in player’s boxes.  Players and two coaches only.

Only league players, referees, staff and authorized personnel will be allowed on the field. (No outside spectators.)

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times and must stay in the lobby or spectator area.

Outside balls may only be used for game warm up and must be kept in player’s bench area once the game begins.  No outside balls allowed in facility.
